I rebuilt my own law practice around AI. Then I started teaching it.
I am Gregory J. Nussbickel. I have practiced law in Florida for over twenty years, and I run The Nussbickel Law Firm, an estate planning and probate practice in Fort Myers. I am rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell. None of that is why you should listen to me about AI.
This is: my firm runs on the systems I teach here. My document drafting carries my own templates and clauses. My intake is entered once. My quality checks are written down where my team and my AI both follow them. I built every one of those, broke most of them at least once, and fixed them on my own matters, with my own clients and my own license, before I ever recommended any of it to another lawyer.
Why I started this
Because the AI advice aimed at lawyers is written by people who have never had a client call at 4:45 on a Friday. It is either vendor marketing, or it is so cautious it tells you nothing, or it is technically correct and useless to a solo with a full calendar. Meanwhile the actual work, the intake retyped three times, the engagement letter rebuilt from the last one, never gets touched.
I wasted a lot of time getting this right. I built AI systems that were too rigid to use, and others so loose they produced nothing worth keeping. What I sell now is the part I would have paid for at the start: someone who has already made those mistakes on their own practice.
What I am not
I am not your lawyer, and this is not a law firm. AI-Native Lawyers sells consulting and training. When I talk about confidentiality, data handling, or professional responsibility, I am telling you how I thought it through in my own practice and pointing you at the questions to ask, not advising you on your obligations. Those belong to you, your jurisdiction, and your carrier.
I also will not tell you AI is going to transform your practice. For most firms it does something less exciting and more valuable: it gives you back a few hours a week and makes the work more consistent. That is worth doing. It is not a revolution, and anyone promising you one has not run a law practice.
